Excellent service and excellent food. Must come see this hidden gem.
Wanted soul food before we left Austin. Found this place and let's just say outstanding. Food was so good. Friendly and great service
First off when we walked in they didn’t greet us nor did they look up. They kept counting their tip jar. Then the food was horrible. I asked for more gravy which they made me pay .50 for and the cup wasn’t even full not half way full. I wish I I wouldn’t have left a tip on my card. The customer service sucks. We definitely won’t be back at all. My husband cooks way better. We were just trying to support our people businesses. Never again.
I really enjoyed spending my money at a Black Owned Restaurant. The food was delicious. The equipment on the inside along with the floors needs to be replaced. The staff was very friendly. My kids got the chicken tenders plate and was supper excited that it was better than most fast food places.
I was hanging out Maggie Mae's in downtown Austin, and the doorman highly suggested this place. So sure enough I had to check it out. This little homey, cozy, soul food spot smelled amazing upon entering. I originally wanted alligator but unfortunately they were out of that, but I don't regret getting the meatloaf one bit! All of the food was very flavorful, and portions are generous for the price. They even took it up to notches when I found out they made Kool aid in house haha. Everything was above what was expected, and I definitely plan on coming back!
All the food is wonderful. Seasoned but not salty. The fried food isn't greasy. You must try it for yourself.
I can't breathe!!! I'm so full! The plates are worth every penny! This place puts the soul in soul food! The owner greeted us like we were old friend's. These are the places I love to find by accident while traveling. I can't wait to come back to Austin for a second plate and cornbread👍
Love this place! Got one chicken fried chicken and one fried fish. We visited on a personal recommendation on a trip to Austin. So good!
